Van Gogh Soft Pastel Portrait Set is a student-to-artist quality soft pastel collection specially selected for portrait drawing and figure studies. The slim, round pastel sticks can be used on their edges for detailed work or on their sides for smooth coverage of larger areas and gradual tonal transitions.

The pastels are made with high-quality pigments and kaolin clay, producing rich colour transfer, a soft velvety finish, and improved resistance to crumbling during use. The pigments are free from heavy metals including lead, cadmium, and cobalt. Suitable for use on textured papers, cardboard, wood, stone, and other surfaces with sufficient tooth to hold pastel layers.

Colours offer good to excellent lightfastness for long-lasting results. As with all dry pastels, finished artwork should be protected with a suitable fixative to reduce smudging and preserve colour.
